Tres chic?

Sarong: a large sheet of fabric, often wrapped around the waist and worn as a skirt by men and women throughout much of south Asia and southeast Asia, the Horn of Africa, and on many Pacific islands. The fabric is often brightly coloured or printed with intricate patterns, often depicting animals or plants, checkered or geometric patterns, or resembling the results of tie dying. I found a dozen of these beautiful sarongs in my closet this morning.

About a year ago, mom went to Bali and brought them back for me as souvenirs. She bought them from one of the tribes she visited. Apparently, sarong-making is a popular job for many young girls (6-11 years of age) on the island.

I figured, it would be such a waste to have them sit in my closet collecting dust. I grabbed a bright orange one out of the bag & decided I would wear it today.

After going for a swim with Vicky, I wrapped it around me and voila!


Not only did I forget to wear them.. I forgot how much fun they were to wear! Too bad you can't see much of the pattern on it. It's really beautiful.
